A hedge that fits the space again
Final size discussed
We agree the height, width and profile before reducing established growth.
Both sides considered
Access and neighbouring features shape how each hedge face can be reached.
Cut growth managed
We discuss collection and handling before creating a large pile of clippings.
Bring spreading hedge growth back into line
A hedge rarely becomes troublesome all at once. First it narrows the path, then it catches your coat, and eventually the wheelie bin needs a three-point turn. Our hedge trimming service can cover routine cutting, reshaping an overgrown hedge or reducing excessive height and width. We look at the species, present condition and access to both sides before work begins. The desired finish matters too, so we discuss the profile and final dimensions rather than assuming every hedge should become the same square green block.

Clear dimensions and tidier surroundings
Regular trimming helps keep new growth manageable, while a neglected hedge may need a more considered reduction over a larger area. We plan the approach around the density of growth, nearby fencing and anything planted at the base. Paths and boundaries can be opened up where the hedge has spread beyond them. Before cutting, we agree how the generated clippings and branches will be collected and handled. If you want the entire hedge taken out rather than reduced, our hedge removal page explains that separate service.
Frequently asked questions
Can you reshape a hedge that is badly overgrown?
We can assess heavy growth and discuss a practical finished size. The suitable amount of reduction depends on the hedge species, condition and live growth within it. We explain what can be cut and how the result is likely to look before starting.
Do you need access to both sides of the hedge?
Access to both sides is useful for an even finish, but every boundary is different. Tell us about fences, neighbouring land and narrow gaps when enquiring. We can then plan what can be reached from your property and identify any access issue early.
Is trimming suitable if I want the hedge gone?
No. Trimming manages the hedge's outer growth, while complete removal reduces the upper growth and deals with the main stems and base to the agreed scope. If your aim is to reclaim the space, ask us about hedge removal instead.
